Let Your Voice Be Heard

Speak Out to Save our Airways

Speak Out!

In the Flight Plan section of our Winter 1999/2000 issue, editor John Kounis () writes that our rights to fly over national parks are in jeopardy. Legislation has been approved to raise the floor of the Marble Canyon sector of the Grand Canyon Special Flight Rules Area (SFRA) effective January 2000. This will permanently render off-limits the area where we photographed the cover of the Spring 1999 issue.

Many of us are alarmed when decisions to restrict airspace are based on political agendas, rather than safety. We also want to offer feedback to our legislators, but sometimes do not know how to let our voice be heard.

We want to help you be heard. Below are links to sites that let you find out who your legislators are and how to contact them either by mail or email. You can also download a sample letter in Microsoft Word and text formats. Feel free to use any part of this letter to help save our airspace.
